Jim and Glenda Casey Scholarship

The Texas Choral Directors Association annually awards scholarships to active TCDA members (three years of continuous active membership required) seeking assistance with higher education (graduate school or certification level workshops).

Jackie Cocke Scholarship

The Texas Choral Directors Association annually awards scholarships to Texas college or university undergraduate music education or church music majors with 60 credit hours and at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 system.

William Gorham Scholarship

The Texas Choral Directors Association annually awards scholarships to Texas college or university undergraduate music education or church music majors with 60 credit hours and at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 system, and to active TCDA members (three years of continuous active membership required) seeking assistance with higher education (graduate school or certification level workshops).
 

Cloys Webb Scholarship

The Texas Choral Directors Association annually awards scholarships to Texas college or university undergraduate music education or church music majors with 60 credit hours and at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 system.

Named Endowed Scholarships

Donald L. Bailey Endowed Scholarship

Dr. Donald Bailey and his wife, Karen, created TCDA's first endowed scholarship in 2013 to ensure TCDA could support music education at the Bachelor level and to ensure the profession of teaching music will continue for years to come.  Their generosity is greatly appreciated and has made a difference in the lives of the scholarship recipients that have gone on to become music educators.

James Edward (Jim) Matheny Endowed Scholarship

This scholarship was also one of the first endowments created in 2013.  The Matheny family's desire to assist high school graduates pursue a college musical education is the goal.  This scholarship aims to assist freshman with their first year of college tuition and expenses, with a preference for those that graduated from Marshall HS in Marshall, TX or from Texas A&M Consolidated HS in College Station, TX, both places where Jim Matheny taught and nurtured his choirs to achieve at the highest levels.


Mary Ann and Art Winden Endowed Scholarship

Through the generosity and foresight of Mr. and Mrs. Winden, the Mary Ann and Art Winden Endowed Scholarship was established in 2017. This is TCDA's most generous scholarship and provides tuition assistance to college students majoring in choral, vocal or church music.

Kathy L Hackett Memorial Scholarship Fund

The family of Kathy L. Hackett and TCDA are pleased to announce a goal of creating and establishing an endowed scholarship to honor her. The family hopes the endowment will continue her lifelong passion to make careers possible for those who wish to devote their lives to vocal music.  The family and friends of Kathy Hackett along with TCDA welcome any contributions to ensure the creation and longevity of this fund. Kathy Blair Memorial Endowed Scholarship

The family of Kathy Blair and TCDA are pleased to announce a goal of creating and establishing an endowed scholarship to honor Kathy Blair, an Austin, Texas-based vocal music teacher and gifted singer who died tragically at the age of 53. Fundraising for this endowment commenced in March 2019 and may take up to three years to reach the endowment goal.  The family hopes the scholarship will become a reality and continue her lifelong passion to make careers possible for those who wish to devote their lives to vocal music.  Please consider supporting this great effort for this to become another TCDA scholarship for years to come.

Lou Leonard Scholarship Fund for TCDA All-State/Honor Choir Participation

Family and friends of Lou Leonard are pleased to initiate the creation of a fund to provide financial assistance to selected students to participate in the annual TCDA MS/JH All-State and/or Elementary Honor Choirs.  All gifts toward this fund are greatly appreciated and will help ensure TCDA can remove financial barriers for some children who love to sing, so they can participate in the All-State or Honor Choirs.  Please consider a gift to help us create scholarships for children who wish to participate in one of TCDA's honor choirs.
