TCDA was founded in 1955 to provide professional development, create networking opportunities, and improve the professional status of choral directors across Texas. Part of our history continues to be the strong programming and networking we provide our members. We are also clearly aware that after nearly seven decades, certain aspects of our work need revising and retooling. Furthermore, we recognize the quickly changing demands on our members, including the need for creativity, flexibility, affordability, and regionality in our services to reflect our membership and choral communities across the state more accurately.

To this extent, we proudly announce TCDA is undergoing a full-scope strategic planning process this spring and summer with the Casey Communications Firm — an Austin-based firm specializing in providing communications and organizational management support to non-profit clients.

As part of this work and beginning very soon, we will be surveying YOU, our members and former members, to learn more about your perceptions and needs going forward. Your responses will guide the strategic planning process and will shape our immediate future with regard to membership, governance, programming, events, locations of our events, and business model. We need to hear from you – please know that we are LISTENING.

Surveys will be crafted by Casey Communications in collaboration with the Strategic Planning Committee and will be shared via email – please, we implore you to OPEN and READ emails from TCDA. Our current leadership knows we cannot do this alone.

Our members are the heart of this organization. Please don’t miss your chance to share input… We look forward to including YOUR VOICE in this exciting new endeavor.
